Lexus CT200h – The Latest Lexus Car

The LF-Ch concept used in the CT200h was shown at Frankfurt motor show last fall. The CT200h is the practical version of that concept. The Lexus CT 200h has been exhibited in Europe at the Geneva Motor Show 2010. The Lexus CT 200h has been marketed as Europe only model. This hype has probably been created to match the Lexus successful sale rate in US to that of the Europe. However, Lexus is living up to its claim by having tailored made Lexus CT200h according to the needs of European market tastes. The trim five-door hatch packaging of CT is testimony of this claim.

The car is driven by a continuously supplied power to the front wheels. The transmission is achieved through the electrically controlled continuously variable transmission (E-CVT). The electric motor facilitates an ultra smooth drive. The electric mode has zero fuel consumption and carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide emission. Thus, it addresses all the issues related to the increasing environmental pollution.

One distinctive feature of Lexus CT200h is that there are four driver-selectable driving modes available in the CT200h: Normal, Eco, EV, and Sport. In Normal mode, the car can battery operates and speeds of 28 mph. The EV mode forces the car to rely only on battery power for 1.2-mile stretches. Switching the car to Eco dulls throttle response, and maximises the climate-control system to save more fuel. The Sport mode is the most exciting mode in which it tightens up the steering, ups throttle aggressiveness, and lowers the stability-control threshold. The vehicle has an effective response rate courtesy these driving modes.

Lexus CT200h is the first five door vehicle by Lexus. It is a superb car with respect to its exterior and interior design. The latest car combines the L- finesse design philosophy with the distinctive sharp-edged look.

The exterior of the car is designed to achieve maximum aerodynamic efficiency. The top class texture and design minimises the wind noise. The strong front grille over the full width bumper improves the aerodynamic efficiency. It has LED day time running lights in the head lamp units. These units are positioned higher than the grille. Improved roll rigidity is achieved through the coil spring, shock absorbers and the new- front anti-roller bar.

It is expected that the Lexus CT 200h full-hybrid hatchback will win over younger drivers because of to its advanced modern design. The key youth feature of the car is the CT200h’s driver-selectable driving modes ‘Sport’ and ‘Eco’. Sport as the name indicates offers faster acceleration and more direct response. The instrument illumination turns red in sports mode, to reflect the passionate driving strength . Therefore, Lexus is all set to embark on a diverse market segment.

The Lexus CT200h is anticipated to be priced around 21,000 Euros in Europe. Lexus is advertising the CT200h as the first full hybrid vehicle. Hopefully the excitement will pay off when this car shows up early next year .

It offers a comfortable driving experience by its supportive driver seat at a low driving position. Despite of the compact design, it has a spacious interior. Lexus LFA – The New Lexus Super Car

Since Lexus displayed the LFA at the Detroit motor show; car lovers the world over have been keenly waiting the production announcement of this super hyper car. Well the waiting is finally over and the first cars are expected to be delivered to customers in December 2010. Lexus started booking orders at the 2009 Tokyo motor show. The Lexus LFA development team has shown that they are quite capable of designing and building a super car.

A powerful V10 4.8-litre engine equips this Lexus LFA sports car. In addition, engine is designated as 1LR-GUE, as it carries dual VVT-I, which gives maximum output of 560 PS (412KW) at 8700 RPM. When approaching 9,000 rpm, engine gets redline, but fuel cutoff is set at 9,500 rpm.

Six-speed Automated Sequential Gearbox supported with electro hydraulic transmission powers the transmission of Lexus LFA. Transmission of LFA is operated through paddle-shifters. There are four modes of shifting, which are normal, auto, wet and sport. In sports mode 200ms is the minimum up shift time estimated by the makers

The LFA engine redlines at 9,000 rpm and it takes 0.6 seconds to that it. the crazy speed of the crank cannot be measured by an analog rev counter so a digital counter is used.

The clean, simple and sleek exterior styling of LFA also reflects both the L-finesse approach to orderly design and the mechanical wholesomeness that lies beneath its compound skin . Its numerous air-intakes and aerodynamic features also fulfil a practical role first and an aesthetic role second .

The gearbox is a sequential semi-automatic. The control paddles are in the steering and the gears shift intently. The gearbox is a rear axle setup which helps maintain the car’s weight distribution and low center of gravity. Once you press the start button and the engine roars into life you will have to get used to the sensitive throttle. Press it and the car will roar onto the road like a bat out of hell.

The ride is firm and you have to keep your left foot firm on the floor to get used to the throttle response. It takes just 3.6 seconds to touch 60 mph. driving an LFA at speed is not a problem as you can select between normal, wet, sport and automatic. The car takes corners well and does not have a tendency to under steer. On straight ways you can push it as hard as you dare. Everything is low and central so it makes keen driving a pleasure.

Interior of Lexus LFA is a combination of leather, carbon fibre, metallic surfaces, and Alcantara. The speedometer of LFA features a changeable colour of background, side-appearing submenus, and size-changing numbers. There is a new feature of seat belt airbag design for driver, and passenger. The Lexus IS 250c does not have the super exhilarating racy performance that people look for in this category. It takes 9 seconds to go from zero to sixty-two miles per hour. It is an excellent long distance cruiser, and two people can ride very comfortably in it. Lexus compulsion to minimise exterior noise is immediately noticeable in the IS 250c. Lexus LFA – An Outstanding Car

Lexus car fans, car enthusiasts, and super car lovers have been waiting for the LFA, since it was displayed at Detroit motor show in 2005. The first batch of these super handcrafted cars will be delivered to customers in 2010. Test drivers have had the opportunity of driving the test cars. The LFA has left a lasting impression on these drivers. One thing they all agree on is that, this car is not for the faint hearted.

The LFA has been in development for the last ten years. Production was delayed when the development team decided to switch the body shell from aluminium to carbon fibre. This low slung super car with it numerous air scoops and cut-offs shows how carefully the car has been designed. At first glance, it looks awesome, and very different from any other car you will see on the roads.

The LFA shares only some of its components with other Lexus models. Its carbon fibre structure, and coachwork is state-of-the-art in race-cars, and its unique wishbone front, and multi-link rear suspension hangs off aluminium sub-frames. Inside, the cabin is beautifully finished, and designed around a mix of modern, and old world style.

Leather-covered bucket seats have electronic adjustments, and are comfortable and supportive. With a high-mounted dash, the view out from the windscreen is restricted, and you have no idea where the corners of the car are. There is a reversing camera built into the tailgate for this purpose. Luggage space is ridiculously limited, with tiny spaces round the seats, and a boot under the rear windscreen, big enough only for an airline carryon case.

The front-mounted 4.8-litre V10 engine is an achievement of engineering, and display of expensive materials, with forged pistons, titanium connecting rods, and cylinder head valves. Race bred, rare and hugely alluring, the unit defines the LFA more than any other component. Start it up and it does not even sound like a normal engine, more like an industrial air conditioner. The Lexus revs from idle to its 9,000-rpm red line in 6/10 of a second, and the specially tuned triple exhaust pipes sound incredible.

The car contains a dry sump lubrication system. This lowers the centre of gravity and moment of inertia by fixing the block deep into the engine bay. The driving system comprises of four driving modes; Auto, Sport, Normal and Wet. These modes are operated or selected through the dial in the dashboard. Each driving mode contains a particular gearshift programme, and engine and brake control logic systems. This is essential to allow the driver to tailor the performance of the car to suit the driving conditions.

One thing that Lexus LFA owners are going to hate is speed limits, as the car has so much power to offer. The throttle is extremely responsive, and it takes a while getting used to. Lexus is reputed for its reliability and customer care, something that LFA owners will depend on.

The car is perfectly designed to achieve high speed handling and stability. This is achieved through class leading aerodynamic performance. It has a low drag coefficient of 0.31. The airflow is accurately controlled over, under and all around the car. It further ensures the stability with the active rear wing. There is a perfect dynamic link between the car and the driver. The constant rate rack and pinion system works with the column-assist electric power steering system to achieve high engine performance. It has a comfortable and spacious interior. The interior of cabin is divided into human zone, driving zone and mechanical zone. The car ensures the security with its Dynamic Integrated Management (VDIM) system. Thus, Lexus LFA being different gives a comfortable and enjoyable driving experience.

Do You Think Lexus IS 250c Is The Best From Lexus?

The new and fresh Lexus IS 250C convertible is markedly better looking than the only current convertible model, the Lexus SC 430 by the Toyota luxury division. Revealed for the first time at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, the IS 250C convertible offers all the features that buyers have come to expect from a luxury convertible, including folding power hard top, 6 speed automatic transmission and a decent, gasoline powered V6 engine.

The Lexus IS 250c has some marvellous features and it is a stately cruiser. Lexus engineers have worked hard at designing the aerodynamics of the IS 250c. The body does not flex- a problem that afflicts a number of convertibles. The ride is extremely smooth and comfortable and it takes road bumps and potholes in its stride.

In what is perhaps a wise sales move, and to cater to a wider client base, though probably not appeasing to sports car enthusiasts, the 2010 Lexus IS 250C convertible is given curved styling that looks more like the retiring SC 430 than the most hard core of Lexus models, the ISF. This is what makes the IS 250C an attractive car all the way around; and it does not lose in translation to open motoring than other convertible models from competing luxury car marquees.

It also has a light weight roof. It can be easily opened and closed within a minimum amount of time. It represents the fastest time or efficiency for any three part folding roof system present in the market. The car has a lightweight roof structure. This can be easily opened, and closed within twenty seconds. Thus, it presents the fastest time for any three-part folding roof system in the market.

The most, ladylike SC 430, which replaced the favourite of the car-aficionados SC 400, has never been a favourite amongst sports car fans. The 2010 Lexus IS 250C is a step in the right direction for Lexus convertible models, notwithstanding our preference of the sharper lines from the sedan and the F models.

The Paris 2008 debut for the IS 250C was all about showing the general public the styling of the car. The real question is the power plants that will be offered in order to compete with its German peers. Just as Ford sells more V6 Mustangs than 300 horsepower V8 models, it is likely that most buyers of a convertible Lexus are not so concerned about these features.

The Lexus IS250 c has been developed to heighten the aerodynamics, the torsion firmness and NHV levels and increase the safety and security performance of the model. The Lexus 250C is similar to IS saloon in many aspects like the exterior design, engine power and few other interior features. Other features like head lamps, door mirrors and bonnet are almost same as that of IS saloon. The exterior design is different and redesigned to suit the other features of the model.

The framework and the body casing have been modified in this model to control the amount of vibrations, ruggedness and sound. In order to reduce the wind noise, auditory glass is used for the wind screen. There is easy access to the rear side, having wide spacious doors, and one touch fold and slide system is used for the front seats. This new model has been considered by the auto makers as a new innovator for the future Lexus sports cars.
