But its amount is almost negligible. On the other hand energy produced through tidal wave, wind power, solar power, hydro power and geothermal is very costly and troublesome also.

In spite of this fact there is a world wide consensus the usability of the alternative fuel because it will solve two burning questions at a time. First, it would help minimize the severity of the effects of global warming and green house effect. Second, the process of depletion of the gas and petroleum would be slower if the production of the green fuel increases. The number of green fuel run automobiles is increasing day by day and dependency on the conventional fuel sources is going down. It will be a boon for the human beings if the future production of this fuel goes up to the expected level.

Australia and Sweden have been developing alternative fuel expansions. Those countries already have E85 vehicles on the road. E85 means the fuel is 85 percent ethanol. It also becoming popular in the Midwestern part of the United States where large crops of corn are grown.

Big oil companies are taking notice and are now putting different kinds of pumps at gas stations where there is a demand. The advantage of the electric car is that it is virtually 100% emissions-free. A secondary advantage is that you may be able to get a deduction on your taxes in the year you purchase the vehicle. Electric cars might be plugged into the wall outlet in your garage to charge the batteries.

There are also disadvantages to the electric auto. They have a limited driving range before they must be recharged. Electric cars also require a lot of space for the batteries, thereby reducing the space available for storing and transporting objects.

Bio diesel Conversion

If your car has a diesel engine, converting it to use bio diesel is another way to save money and help the environment. This alternative fuel source is a non petroleum based product made by converting vegetable oil to fuel. Bio diesel might be used directly in diesel powered cars.
